Yesterday hubby and I watched VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World a global broadcast special aired on May 8, 2021, from the SoFI Stadium in California. The theme was to celebrate hope as families and communities reunite after receiving the vaccine, and call on world leaders to step up for equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

‎You can watch on YouTube any time — it was inspiring to know that so many people care what is happening in the rest of the world — India and South Africa were both mentioned.

A locally based pharmaceutical company here is doing the filling, packaging and distribution of the J&J vaccines in South Africa and to the rest of Africa. This should help speed things up here. However the Phase 2 rollout, which hubby and I qualify for, is supposed to start a week today on 17 May but we still don’t know where the vaccination sites will be!

Let’s keep holding on to hope!
