What a fascinating and entertaining life you have led. This memoir of your childhood filled me with joy - and the sound of various musicals you cited.

The first movie I can remember watching at age six (I'm a year older than you) in the UK was The King and I - my favorite songs were Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance.

Once in South Africa with a single dad, his collection of LP's included West Side Story and My Fair Lady. Another song which brings tears to my eyes is Thank Heaven for Little Girls from the musical, Gigi, which my dad often sang to me in a French accent a la Maurice Chevalier.

Thanks for the memories!
