Last month I wrote an essay about how music lifts our souls. Music with a goal is even better.

For example, the first song I featured was We Are The World. Musicians produced this masterpiece to raise funds for starving children during a drought in Africa.

In that essay, I lamented that no artists had collaborated to create a way to raise funds for the starving children — and women and men — in Gaza.

It seems any expression of compassion for the Palestinian people is met with ridicule and scorn by those in power, who perpetuate the lies that the occupier has hidden behind for decades with impunity.

The ultimate insult for those of us who believe in justice and human rights is to be accused of being pro-Hamas and/or anti-Semitic.

I cannot understand why the Western powers are so reluctant to impose sanctions on Israel.
