Sadly, most doctors haven’t moved into the 21st century. The key is to discover the root cause (no, this isn’t a dental deposition). They’d rather consult their list of ailments and tick the box of which medication to prescribe — including probiotics.

The universe of bacteria, both good and bad, in our gut is unique to each of us and the wrong probiotics can do more harm than good.

Doctors who practice functional medicine know this and are far more successful. Their philosophy is to treat the person and not the symptom.
