1. You’ve won $100,000. Are you saving it or spending it?

Our currency, the South African Rand (ZAR), has depreciated by 173% against the US Dollar (USD) over the past twenty years. That amount of dollars would buy me a car and I’d invest the rest because it’s not enough to buy a home.

I’d use the interest earnings to replace my missing teeth, then I can smile with confidence.

2. Are you more likely to go camping in the Colorado mountains (glamping if your physical body requires it) or stay at the Ritz Paris in France?

It’s a heck of a distance to travel to the Colorado mountains from South Africa, so I’d go camping in the Drakensberg because you can’t pitch a tent on Table Mountain — it would upset the overseas tourists.

I don’t do hotels. Self-catering accommodation or a visit to my sister-in-law’s guest house in Port Elizabeth is my limit.

3. Do you prefer an “All-You-Can-Eat Entrée Buffet” or an “All-You-Can-Eat Dessert” bar?

Not so much the All-You-Can-Eat, the accepted meaning of which is stuff yourself.
