A lot of useful information is missing in statistics and this issue has been raised before with Medium. The bar graph should - but doesn't - provide info on which stories garnered the views and reads on that day. This would enable writers to evaluate which stories are gaining traction.

As your views and reads did not translate into earnings, one can only assume these were external via Twitter or Facebook, et al.
